In the workshop the logs are brushed clean and sanded on one end to produce a smooth and visually clean finish.
Non toxic and chemical free.
We only use hardwoods, mainly Sweet Chestnut, Ash and Birch which from years of experience offer the best quality and beauty.
We avoid softwood or pine as it discolours easily and has less wow for display.
Logs are kiln dried and often have splits and cracks in the ends.
As the product is sourced from nature there may be some moss and sawdust which we missed in the sanding and preparation of the logs. This can easily be scraped or brushed off.
Natural timber has a variety of colours, tones and shape so variation in the logs’ appearance is to be expected.
